the limit

I think i might be coming close to the limit of my ability to take workload. I don’t think i have been this busy before and its really taking its toll on me. My memory is bad, my sleep patterns are screwed, my temper is quick, my diet is brief, my body is twitching, my time burning up… i better get back to work…

what’s going on

On September 5 and 7, 2001, an ensemble of superstar artists gathered in New York City to record a new version of “What’s Going On,” Marvin Gaye’s classic call for compassion, healing and love, in order to raise awareness and funds to fight against the scourge of AIDS in Africa.

In the wake of the tragic terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11, Artists Against AIDS Worldwide, realizing the recording’s powerful healing message extended beyond the scope of the project’s original aim, decided to donate 50% of its proceeds to The United Way’s September 11th Fund and 50% to the AIDS relief effort which includes the Global AIDS Alliance, among others.

Five different mixes of “What’s Going On” — including a “main mix” by Jermaine Dupri, a “rock mix” by Fred Durst, and other mixes by A-list producers — appear on the special CD. Banding together as an All Star Lineup, those donating their time and talent to the recording include Christina Aguilera, Backstreet Boys, Mary J. Blige, Bono, Destiny’s Child, Jermaine Dupri, Fred Durst, Eve, Nelly Furtado, Nona Gaye (Marvin‘s daughter), Darren Hayes (of Savage Garden), Ja Rule, Wyclef Jean, Alicia Keys, Aaron Lewis (of Staind), Lil’ Kim, Jennifer Lopez, Nas, Nelly, *NSYNC, P Diddy, ?uestlove (of the Roots), Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, & Michael Stipe.

francis

nick,

deeply regret to inform you that francis has gone home to be with the Lord.

he suffered a relapse of his cancer, and didn’t inform most of us of the severity of his condition.

just found out today from a friend of a friend. i’m still in shock, but am so happy that he is with the lord right now.

the saddest part of it is he just saw the birth of his second son two weeks ago.

hope you’d spend some time praying for his wife and kids. i think the support he and his family have gotten from church of our saviour has been first-class, from what i’ve heard from him previously.

Francis,

I heard the news from Leonard… We love you… i know you are with the lord now, but i really hope you can recieve this. You are one of the best colleagues i ever had and those days when we went for lunches are one of the best days in my life. I remembered how you made fun of me as being your son as i had the same name as your son. I thank God for you.

Goodbye…

smell my food

Recently i found out that my favourite smell is chopped garlic thrown into a wok with hot oil. Man… that smell can really summarises the entire history of humans’ relationship with cooking.
