Coffee, Rain and Vivo

Romance at vivo

Its been a long time since Pearl and I took time off for ourselves. This time, we took leave the day after Christmas to just chill and spend time with one another. No plans… just chilling out with each other.

Went to Vivo, thought of catching a movie, but nothing nice, so we ended up flipping magazines at Pacific Coffee. We sat outside and its beautiful. The cool rainy weather, the warm gourmet coffee, the perfect setting for a perfect day with my perfect woman.

Its nostalgic. We spent alot of time during our dating days at the World Trade Centre (currently known as Habourfront). This place is in between where we used to stay. She stayed at West Coast and i stayed at East Coast, hence this place was where we changed bus, the place we hanged out most of the time after classes… those were wonderful days. The care free days. The romantic days. The girl i loved… now the woman i love.

Painting Clothes

There are small little stuff that we do with our girls sometimes. Play with toys, read books, bring them out, do some art and craft, etc. This time, inspired by some detergent point of sales thingy we saw at a super market, we decided to create clothes and hang them up on a string. We did this like sometime in october 06.

This is the final out come of a mornings worth of arty fartyness and i think its quite cool. As the little ones go quite wild with their painting, all i did was add a thick black border on top of what they have done… and wahla!! Cool clothes. Its way fun.

They do fight at times, but mostly they love each other loads. You can see Cleo hugging Clié for a picture and the view is just priceless for us parents.

The Shepherds and the Angels

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Cat Ong & Friends

For the past 2 days, i left office early and headed for Changi Airport. Did not bring my passport, cuz i’m not going anywhere. Was going there to meet Cat, Olyna, Pam, Wei Xiang and Ke Jian to form Cat Ong and Friends! lol… what a cute name we got.

Cat Ong is a well known veteran local musician, ask any people in the local music scene and they will definately know who Cat Ong is. Like just this year, she was involved in the Mosaic Music Festival at the Esplanade.

She encouraged me to sing there for exposure and it was indeed a good and new experience.

I was also privileged to sing along side Olyna and Pam whom i’ve been singing with for many years in Church. I’ve especially learnt alot from Olyna who have taught me vocal projection, harmonising in tenor ever since the late 90s. Wei Xiang plays the clarinet and boy was he good at his solos. Ke Jian plays the flute and he is also very talented in it AND he is only 17!

We did mainly Christmas songs and at times there was some audience participation. What suprised me was the number of people that wanted to take pictures with us.

We did 4 sets per night, T1 , T2, T1, then T2 again. At times we even sang when we were moving from one place to another. There was once a few Aussies was singing along with us on the sky trian and that was fun. ;)

In line with my previous post, this is my first time singing in such a small group in a public place.
