Breakfast at Privé
Breakfast at Privé

Its been a tough few weeks for Pearl and I and today, we pampered ourselves and had a full day out.

We started with having breakfast with kids at Ang Mo Kio Macs, then left them with my parents as we planned for my dad to bring them go swimming in the afternoon. The kids love it.

We went to Privé for lunch and ordered from the breakfast menu.

The ambiance was great, the food was so so, but its our first visit, so we do think its quite a nice place.

Then later in the evening, we went to Broth as i read about it from Danesh’s blog post sometime back.

For appetizer, I had the “Baby spinach and portobello mushroom salad raspberry vinegar dressing and fried shallots” and it was fantastic. I never could imagine what a person can do with a few leaves.

I had the “Braised duck w roasted figs in flaky pastry w rocket salad & balsamic dressing” as the main and it was not as fantastic as the appetizer. It really felt like a plate of expensive braised duck. Its braised duck. Eating it strangely reminds me of a heartland coffeeshop.

But i have to say the ambiance was fantastic, they played male jazz vocals and the waiters were very very good. Will come back next time, but maybe i’ll try lunch instead.

Overall, it was an excellent day and i’m many dollars poorer, but i made my wife happy.

A happy wife is a happy live.

Wet Botanic Gardens

Was at Botanic Gardens with kids on sunday and many church friends were there too.

It started off nice and breezy and we started playing some group games, but little did we expect it was only 15mins away from a long afternoon shower. Everyone dashed to the nearest shelter and tried their very best to cover all the picnic food and carry them off too.

Oh well, thats that for a fun filled nice afternoon at the Botanic Gardens. But kids being kids, they still managed to have fun. They were looking forward to use their nice little umbrellas that mommy bought a few months back.

Here is a retro song to accompany this post.

No tickets this year, but that does not stop us from trying to catch the spirit of the festivities. Wifey had to work (yes on NDP day during NDP time *sigh*) so its all of us less mommy.

Knowing that the crowd will be just crazy, i parked at Tanjong Pagar MRT and we took the MRT to City Hall. We wanted to see fireworks (like many other Singaporeans). Walked all over Marina Square and realised that 7+pm was not considered early (fireworks usually happen at 8pm).

The time drew closer and we made do with a location that i think will get a decent view of the fireworks display.

8pm came and Cleo wanted to go to the loo… It was crowded. To navigate thru the crowd and back would just mean no more fireworks. I had no choice… i told her to hold. She say she can’t. I told her to hold.

*bom* *bom* the fireworks started and she got distracted. I carried her up to my shoulders risking the fact that i would get wet. Now i hoped the fireworks would quickly end.

It ended eventually and we quickly went back to City Hall to find a loo for her. What a night!

Happy Birthday Singapore. :)

Glam Clié

Glam Clié

My Clié is no longer a baby anymore. She is starting to talk like us (her parents), behave like us, want to go places we go, want to do what we do.

Of late i’ve been having verbal sparing with her. She have a way with her words as she is quite clever at worming her way thru an argument with her limited set of vocabulary. Its fun, but yet frustrating.

Her wardrobe is quite princess-sy as she always choose dresses. So for this time, I choose for her what to wear with much opposition from her as she feels the top is cow-boy-ish and not suitable for her. Wah lau, at 5 years old, i thought kids would just wear what their parents tell them.

There were alot of other photos that i took during that session, but only these were decent to show. There are some poses i’m like… huh? I wonder what she see from TV when we are at work.
