Thepans at Henderson Waves

Henderson Waves

This evening after a heavy dinner at Little Bali, we went to Henderson Waves for a stroll. The bridge stands 36 metres above Henderson Road and its the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore. It connects the two hills of Mount Faber and Telok Blangah Hill.

Wooden deck floor

The wooden deck makes me feel as if i’m on a ship. The round corners also allows people to sit, recline and relax. You can literally sit anywhere.

Kids going wild

The kids definitely had fun too. They were climbing up and down the interesting structure. We wanted to take a group photo of them all hanging off the hand rail, but as some could not hold so long, we just could not catch the right moment. Some even let go when they could not hold any longer and fell on their butts.

Kiddy group photo

Ok, at least we manage to get them all to sit down together.

Cool Benches

The benches were also super cool as the gentle red light made it all so different.

Cool benches

Looks like a super cool place to hang out in the evenings. If you are a local and have not yet been there, you are defiantly missing out one of the best places in Singapore.

Zoo

All set to go

Its a Saturday and its family day! Today, we are off to the Zoo!

Clié and Cleo at the Zoo

The girls have been to the Zoo countless times already these years, but kids being kids, its always fun.

This time I did up a work sheet for them to do at the zoo. The sheet had pictures of animals that I know will be at the Zoo and all they had to do was to write out the names of the animals.

RAAAHHH

We saw the white tiger! RAAAHHHH!!

Kangaroos

Its super hard to take pictures of Cleo, cuz when we ask her to smile, she smiles, but she looks away. So finally I notice I got to tell her where to look. So “look at the black black thing on the camera” was it. From now on, I think I can get decent shots of her already.

Cleo seeing Gibbons

Here is Cleo looking smashing!

Ice Cream time

We wanted to see the “Splash” show, but as we were late, it was not possible to see anything with the amount of people there on a Saturday. I could put one of them on my shoulder, but i simple can’t put 2. When one is up, the other is unhappy… so how? Go eat ice cream lor. problem solve.

Water Play time

Mommy bought the girls new swimming outfits and they are super cute.

Cleo happy to play water

Thirsty

Thirsty

Clié plays hard. I hope when she grows up, she will work hard too.

Cleo playing with water

Here is Cleo filling up her cups with water, only to later throw them both up in the air. Lately she finds throwing things up fun. At home, she throws her stuff toys up.

It was a nice afternoon. Not too hot, not much whining, not much problems… everything went smoothly. The only thing that could have made things better was if mommy could have joined us. Too bad she had to work this Saturday.

The project manager’s dilemma

If you are working on multiple projects, managing multiple clients and yet have a family, you might relate the the following scenarios. What would you do?

  1. satisfy client A and disappoint client B;
  2. satisfy client B and disappoint client A;
  3. satisfy client A and B, but disappoint wife and kids;
  4. spend time thinking of how you got here and do an online survey to see what will others do.

ATRIA Bloggers Unconference

Tag of Tags

I was real nice to attend ATRIA Bloggers Unconference today. Its the first time i’ve seen like minded Christians coming together to discuss about technology, new media, etc.

I arrived and was surprised that a personalised tag was provided. It even had a tag cloud on it which was generated by… i’m guessing www.tagcloud-generator.com. A very nice touch.

Paul Khoo introduced what ATRIA is and what it hopes to achieve and gave everyone an overview of the evening.

The evening then started off with 3 speakers sharing their views and knowledge of the New Media Scene. Nicholas Aaron Khoo shared about what the New Media space is all about, highlighted several impressive stats on what has happened over the past few years and highlighted how everyone should be relevant. Shing then continued and reassessed the whole fundamentals of New Media all together. I missed the last speaker as i had to go out to take a call.

The session then broke into discussion groups and naturally i joined the Technology Frontier as the other 2 were on Faith and Collaboration. We all introduced ourselves and the discussion then kicked off immediately with ideas, fundamental questions, views, concerns, etc. I enjoyed every moment of it.

I think there will be a video that will be put online soon by Atria… If it does come on, i’ll add to this post.

I have to say, overall, i’m quite impressed on the level of maturity and professionalism in the discussions and do look forward for the next one.
